A “Trojan” container with cocaine

In Germany the representatives of police forces and customs authorities found approximately one and a half tonnes of cocaine. Such a “cargo” was stored on board of a container vessel in the Port of Hamburg.

White powder drug was stowed in special bags with odd marking on a boxship which stayed in dock at the port.

According to the “street index”, the value of the cocaine equals about 300 million Euros.

The largest batch of this drug was discovered on a containership at the same port last year. It was three times as much as this time.

The “Trojan” vessel with illicit drug arrived in the Port of Hamburg at the end of June this year. In this port the cargo was meant to be transshipped and delivered further by another vessel to Poland.

The vessel’s cargo-carrying capacity is over 10,000 TEU. It goes under the flag of Malta and is operated by French shipping agency CMA CGM. Its owner is Bank of Communications in China. The company gives no comments on this issue.
